Cyber Wellness Programme

Loyang View students learn to use technology safely and responsibly through talks, workshops, and lessons guided by MOE's Cyber Wellness Framework.

Overview

Cyber Wellness in LVSS is based on a comprehensive programme  to develop Loyang View students into discerning and responsible ICT users who are able to protect themselves and be responsible for their well-being in cyberspace. Through CCE lessons as well as cyberwellness activities such as Assembly Talks, Workshops, Parent Talks  conducted in our school, our students learn to be respectful, safe and responsible users of technology, be a positive peer influence, advocate positive use of technology for the good of the community and acquire practical tips on protecting oneself and others from harmful online behaviours.

Our Peer Support Leaders (PSLs) are also involved in fostering cyber wellness by promoting healthy and responsible online behavior. We prioritise empowering our student leaders to stay updated on current digital trends to proactively guide their peers in making thoughtful and informed choices in the digital world.

The school adopts MOE’s Cyber Wellness Framework in educating our students on Cyber Wellness. This framework focuses on three key processes: Sense, Think and Act.

Cyber Use

  • maintain a healthy balance of their online and offline activities (i.e. excessive use of technology)

Cyber Identity

  • develop a healthy online identity

  • express oneself online appropriately to be authentic and achieve congruence between online and offline identity

Cyber Relationships

  • develop safe, respectful, and meaningful online relationships (e.g. address cyber bullying, build positive relationships)

Cyber Citizenship

  • understand the cyber world and make informed choices about participation in online activities (e.g. accessing online content with malicious intent/inappropriate websites with content that is violent, sexual or harmful in nature)

  • recognise and protect oneself and others from online risks associated with people who may have malicious intent (e.g. hackers, scammers, online predators)

  • have a positive presence in the cyber community and be a positive influence

Cyber Ethnics

  • create and share online content in a responsible manner (e.g. not sharing content from questionable sources and not propagating deliberate online falsehoods)

  • respect copyright
